Summer School 2021/22
(20. 3. 2022)
Theme: Sustainability in higher education
Aim: to propose a competitive sustainability strategy for partner universities
Outcomes: Situational analysis, Market research, Sustainability strategy plan, Promotional materials
The first summer school was realised with a delay caused by the covid 19 pandemic in the blended form during winter semester 2021/2022.
The summer school brought together more than 20 students from five partner universities (Škoda Auto University, Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, University of Siena).
Aiming to develop a more sustainable strategy for carbon neutrality, groups of international students worked together for a couple of months drafting and researching opportunities for improvement in the fight against climate change alongside designing promotional materials to bring the project to life - and most importantly - to make their ideas known.
The projects was presented in a competition held in the Czech Republic featuring all the participants in the summer school coordinated by Ioana Giurgiu alongside with all students from Module 2 Master's level English courses taught by Lenka Stejskalová, Dagmar Sieglová, Ioana Giurgiu and Petra Vaňková from ŠAU. The competition was assessed by a jury including the program and course teachers, other school academicians, professionals in the field as well as active supporters of environmental policies. The best ideas will be included in the strategic plans of partner universities who aim to follow through with the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal just discussed at the cop 26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (EU, ec.europa.eu, 2015).
The competition and award ceremony for students from Module 2 Master's level English courses took place in the second half of January 2022. The competition and award ceremony for all participants took place during on-site workshops within the summer school.
