Workshop on Critical Incidents (9th February 2021)
On 9 February 2021, an online workshop on Critical incidents was organised by Prof. Dr. phil. Doris Fetscher and Susanne Klein, M.A. from University of Applied Sciences Zwickau. The workshop was attended by project team members from all partner universities.
Doris Fetscher and Susanne Klein introduced the topic of critical incident narrations in intercultural communication, their context and characteristics. The participants recalled and narrated some critical incidents in small groups and then reflected on them in the whole group. Afterwards, the critical incidents were collected in a written form. In the second half of the workshop, a Knowledge Base for Critical Incidents, created by a team under the supervision of Doris Fetscher from University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, was introduced. This knowledge base was created to develop intercultural awareness and to challenge stereotypes. Thanks to this workshop all participants had the opportunity to work with it, search for information according to different categories and add their own narratives. Everybody welcomed the opportunity to get to know this great and extensive database.
The workshop was really well-organised and full of new and interesting information and all participants enjoyed it very much.
